i have recently brought a 120gb Maxtor diamondmax plus 9 hard drive for a computer fair and when i installed it about after 5 mins it gets quite hot (hotter than the other hard drive) but when it gets to a certain emperatur after a bit it doesnt seem to get any hotter. Is this ok?
thanks

Large capacity, 7200RPM drives get quite hot, probably an HD cooler would be a good idea. Also leaving as much space around it will help.

An extra case fan may also help and reduce the overal system's temp.

Yes aussies got the picture. A exhaust fan would cool it down for sure. I had the same problem with mine. I put a fan in the back of the case and voila , it cool down.. Cya
