View Full Version : Policy editing
I am trying to edit policies in Win98 (I have the poledit program from the CD). I make changes and reboot and the changes are gone? Is this the way it is supposed to be?

This is probably an ignorant question, but....do you save first?
Budfred
This is probably an ignorant answer: "Save?".
Actually, thats a good idea. I thought that Windows would automatically save it when you closed. That hadn't occured to me. Thank you. I think that may solve my problem. (not sarchasm)

Sometimes the devil is in the details. ;)
Anytime that "Save" button is not grayed out, it's helpful to click on it. :)
I am still having problems with this. I can't get the settings to "stick". I reboot and go back into the account that I just changed (and saved) and the accound still has full access to the system.
I have found < http://www.zisman.ca/poledit/ > but cannot find any other websites concerning this matter..
I wonder if there is a specific path to save to? I have tried c:\, c:\windows\inf and c:\windows.
