off about three times one day last week while I was using pc and the only problem I seem to have is getting into Word. It freezes up all and I have to manually cut system off to get back on pc to do anything. If I have a warning, such as a storm coming, etc. I shut down my computer but this came without warning of any kind.

I am new here and very pc challenged. I hope someone may be able to help me with how to get back into my Word without a complicated route. All other functions I use seem to be fine. I can get to the internet and other places but not into Word.

After the powerloss did you run scandisk?

If you did, did it find and repair anything?

I believe that if you go to Add/remove programs ans click on Word you will have an option to repair it....you may need to repair the installition, because on of its files may have been damaged by the powerloss.

scan showed no errors.

I did not say my system is ME if that helps. I read a few posts and noticed maybe I should have done so.

Now if I can determine how to get to add/remove. See...toldja, challenged!

Hi ,Everybody is challenged when they start, no big deal. to get to add/remove programs, click on start menu then click on control panel then click on add/remove programs. If not clear post back.

Self when you get to add/remove do not click on change or remove there should be something there like "click here for support info." Click that there it will give you the option to repair

Also thanks for the email reply. Such a nice forum with a great owner! I hope I didn't clutter up but I was getting desperate.

All of you that replied to my quandry, thanks. I tried going in thru Microsoft Works to get to Word and I have no idea how or what was done but it cleared up the glitch and now I can get in directly as well.

Then I had a problem getting back in here. I'm learning.
