Hi,
The subject says it all. I have a 7 port D-link hub - which is full. Upon bootup of Win98se some of the devices are not recognized until I unplug/re-plug them from the hub.

I know this is a pretty common prob. Is there a genral fix?

Thanks in advance
Don

Is it a powered hub?

If not try a powered hub, just because the USB specs say that you can connect x number of devices doesn't mean that there will be enough power for all of them. Also if it is a powered hub try another, put 3 devices on the second hub...

I have a dlink usb modem -- then I bought a usb mouse -- then every boot, the mouse wasn't recognized -- I gave up fighting it -- so I used the usb to ps2 connector that came with the mouse -- works fine now

Even with a powered hub, you can probably still overload it with too many devices.

I have a Belkin 4-port hub. Specs say:

Without AC adapter: +5 volts DC @ 100mA per downstream port

With AC adapter: +5 volts DC @ 500mA per downstream port

Check your manuals and/or mfr's websites for power requirements of your attached devices.

You can also chain more than one powered hub, use a mixture of hub powered and self powered devices or split the devices among the "root hubs" on the computer...anything but run all of them off the same port/hub (even a powered hub with what you have on it will be hard pressed to keep up, like tjay said)
