Sometimes mi FDD scratches the surface of my floppy discs and kills them.
But sometimes the drive works correctly.
żIs there a way to avoid that bad behavior?

mi = my
Sounds like the drive is a prime candidate for replacement. You can try running a cleaning disk through it but it sounds like the head has been scratched. When the heads are damaged there isn't really much to do except replace the drive, trying to repair it will cost far more than a replacement, if you can find anyone actually willing to repair it.

Welcome to PCGuide Forums!!! :) :)
Its worth trying to get it serviced before a replacement. It seems to be a hardware misalignment. But try to get it serviced at a low cost. As mjc posted, repair could always cost u more than a replacement.

I am not sure how prices work in your country, but here it would be much cheaper to replace than to try to service. To service it would probably run about $50US just to evaluate it, to replace it would be about $20. I would go with replacement unless service is a lot cheaper there and drives are a lot more expensive.
