In C:\Documents and Settings\'user name'\Local Settings\Temp, I have about 50-60 Files j$xxx$ca where xxx are numbers - Properties gives $CAFile Type Unknown

The Folder 'Local Settings' is a Hidden Folder

Does anyone know what these Files are?

I was recently afflicted with a Virus JS_Traffichbar.A which infected a File j$app128$ca in the same Location above - this File I deleted as it was uncleanable

The Virus seems to have affected my PC-Cillin Firewall which is being disabled at Startup by 'something'

I am wondering if the above 'unkown' files are anything to do with this?

Thanks

From your description, these files sound VERY suspcious.

I would suggest that you get an on-line antivirus scan (see MJCs links for details) as many virii (viruses!?) can disable AV software.
Another alternative would be to download a scanner using a known clean computer, and use that.

Thanks - I should have said that I have already done a couple of Online Scans and also a Manual Scan with my Pc-cillin - all clear!

Virus JS_Traffichbar.A

This is a non destructive.. this java script adds a regestry key which points to the web site you gat it from..looks like HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MenuExt, >>> Search The Web <<<

which will connect you to to many web sites at one time and makes you run out of memeory and cause the system to hang..annoying little booger.
