Hi my next door neighbour has a packard bell machine which is used by his children for educational and games software, he is not connected to the net. This morning he has a problem when booting up, his machine is coming up with the message 'serial port1 resource conflict' and goes no further. can anyone explain what he needs to do to overcome this?
Many thanks

Welcome, albear! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
Ask him:
What version of Windows ??
Is this a new problem with a system that used to be OK ??
Did he recently install any new hardware or software ??
Does he have a serial or a PS/2 mouse ??
