Anyone going to be taking the new compTIA Security+ exam?
It would be interesting to know how people get on with it.
I'm currently doing my A+, should do my Net+ in the summer. Hopefully I'll be able to take the Security+ some time after this - it's not vendor specific, so I thought it would be worthwhile doing.
Some pretty impressie backers for it - those involved include:
Federal Bureau of Investigation
US Secret Service
US Customs
Microsoft
Sun
etc. etc.

In my opinion, I would be taking operating system-oriented certifications to learn more about the security of different OS's like Novell, Unix, and Microsoft. Also, I would suggest taking Cisco's CCNA and/or CCDP. All these are great for those who are just starting out, but if you have been experimenting with security on your own for a while you may want to jump straight to the Cisco certs then the Security+ Cert. Just a thought. Good Luck.
