Problem with Nero wave editor

I have been using Nero wave editor 5.5.9.5. to edit my MP3s I had a small problem saving after editing so I contacted Nero as ya do. The guy said download version 5.5.1.0 which I did. The only problem now is it is saving 2 files one MP3 & one with a WPK extention. I have never heard of a WPK extention plus its using an extra 500k per 2 meg MP3, can anybody help?

wpk extensions are Nero Sound Editor Files. Sounds like Nero may be a bit buggy in this area.

Hi paul checked that forum seems theres not only me having this problem

Its time nero got their act together

I still don't think its right for Nero to give this problem. When I contacted nero they didn't say this is normal.

Is it saving one in the original location and not altered ie. in original content and saving the edited/altered one as a second version? If I were to start using the flange/echo etc. settings, I would definitely want the original still there so if I were to grow tired of the effects, I could always refer back to the original. Or try another setting with it.

Or are you saying that when you are done there are 3 versions of the .wav file?

And if you 'add' echo for example, wouldn't that involve adding content thus greater file size?

What I am saying is when I save an edited MP3 I end up with four files.

The original MP3 plus another wpk file. (Two files)

And

The edited Mp3 plus and another wpk file.(two files)

At this stage I am only practicing.
