System restarting?

I have windows 98se and every time I boot up I get to the bluescreen and then my cpu just restarts.Then i get the scan thing then it gets to the bluescreen again and restarts again, it wont get into windows. So when it scandisk does it again i just exit and it will boot up fine. So i use scanreg/restore and restore to previous date and no luck? I dont when this started so I cant isolate if some software did this but i assume it some kind of software is the culprit.Any ideas would be helpful?

Uninstalled anything recently? Without knowing the message(s) you get at the bluescreen it's a shot in the dark but making software calls to non-existent hardware or software, particularly net software as I do a lot of LAN configuration on my home systems does it for me. Short of a reinstall you may be stuck in a loop. If you can get into safe mode then that'd be a start but it would still be an uphill struggle to identify/rectify the situation.
