I have Adobe Acrobat v5.0.5 installed on my computer.
My O/S is Windows XP Home Edition v.5.1.2600
Browser is IE v. 6.0.2600
When I visit a web site and try to look at a document which is on the site in a .pdf format all I get is a blank white page except that in the top left hand corner of the page there is a small square symbol within which there is a very small red square, a green circle and a blue triangle.
I have tried right and left clicking on the symbol without effect.
I have separately opened Adobe Acrobat, whilst I am still on line, and pasted in the address of the web page but get error messages to the effect that path is invalid or syntax is wrong etc.
.pdf files which are on my C drive automatically open with Acrobat Reader. It appears to be only web pages which will not open.
I thought that perhaps the problem was with the web page but since one of them was on the Adobe site I guess that they probably have got their web page set up OK.
I have spoken to the Adobe Support (UK) and they said they had never heard of this problem before. Am I unique??
Any advice gratefully received Thanks.
