I have a Win XP system with 128 mb RAM and a Pentium III 1 GHZ processor. My motherboard is a shuttle av 11. The computer randomly reboots itselg during use. It could reboot during startup or reboot 20 or 30 minutes later without notice. I have replaced the power supply and checked for dust in the fans. The fans are operating and there are no warning beeps during startup. Could this be a virus or what else could be the problem? Thank you for your time.

XP can be set to reboot instead of show the infamous "blue screen' of the other versions, so you will need to find the error logs and look through them also.

Some of the most common problems that cause random reboots are heat, power and RAM problems.

I don't have a copy of XP handy to tell you where to look, but I know you do have the option to turn off the automatic reboot when there is a problem. I would consider turning this off so that you can find out more about what is causing the problem.
