Using HP 648C Deskjet printer, the problem is that when i try to print something the paper and power led start flashing and my screen says
that i am out of paper when i have plenty of paper.
I can get rid of the error message and the flashing leds by shutting off the power and turning it back on but the problem comes back when i try to print again. Can anyone hell me with this problem?

Welcome to http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif

It may simply be that the sensor that tells the printer there is paper there is dirty or not sitting properly to work. Try blowing that area out with canned air or taking the paper out and putting it back in when you get the error message to see if that corrects the problem. The sensor is at the point where the paper enters the printer.

also try reinstalling the drivers and other HP software...BE SURE YOU READ EVERYTHING CAREFULLY and be sure to check the box that complies with the type of port your printer is connected in (usb, paralell)...thats all i had to do to fix the EXACT same problem. only i have an officejet all-in-one.
