Situation:
Small network. 2 computers (A & B) running XP, 2 Mac's, 3 printers.
Mac's are running fine.
XP's are not.
When I try to run Network setup wizard on computer A it completes. When I try to run Network setup wizard on computer B it can not complete it due to the configuration. I start over. Run NSW on comp B, completes, run NSW on comp A, it can not complete due to configuration.
I can ping computer A from B and computer B from A. I can ping with IP or computer name. I can access workgroups on the computer that completed the NSW, but can't open the shared files. I can not access workgroups from the computer that did not complete NSW.
I tried to install NetBEUI only to find that it was not even listed under protocols, which I do not understand.
The following is installed on the local area network (on both computers):
Client for Microsoft networks
McAfee Firewall Network Filter
File & Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks
QoS Packet Scheduler
TCP/IP
I tried to disable McAfee, didn't help.
The network is connected via hub.
Both computers can access the internet just fine.
Any ideas...please, I'm starting to lose my hair here.
Thanks!
