Hi, I use outlook express to send my mail, I also use the Newsgroups - recently I have been trying to work out "whos who"
When I post, there seems to be loads of information about me in the properties of the post (IP address etc) were-as in the other posts theres little sign of who its traced to.
firstly can I cut down the info thats displayed about me?
secondly can I find out who's sent certain posts?

You can try running somethhing like SamSpade (http://www.samspade.org/ssw/) on the headers to find out as much as you can about a praticular IP, but be warned most people don't take to kindly to someone digging up their info and using that info for anything.

Second, if you want to leak less info about yourself use areal newreader client, OE likes to give out info, and has no real way of controlling want is spewed all over the place.

Some OE tips: http://www.okinfoweb.com/moe/news/index.htm

Pretty good list of newsreaders: http://www.newsreaders.com/win/clients.html
