Windows 98 Licence Number

Hello,
My PC has become unstable and I would like to reload Win98. I have the 98 CD, but I have lost or mislaid the licence number. Is there any way I can find the detrails on my PC?

Look in the registry should be something likethis
or look in system properties??

if you can't boot to windows and haven't formatted the system drive, then boot with a startup floppy or to a command prompt and run either of these:

C:\Windows\command\Find /I "ProductKey" c:\windows\system.dat
C:\Windows\command\Find /I "ProductKey" c:\system.1st
