I've recently formatted my C drive. Since reinstalling windows and software etc I have two error messages that pop up on every shutdown. They both refer to MSGSRV32. The first is a general white box with an ignore or close option. The second tells me that "MSGSRV32 has caused a gen prot fault in module CM8330SB at 003:00000b75". It's a real hassle when installing something or defragging the swapfile (which requires about 3 reboots). The CM8330SB module bit suggests that it may have some link with my Media-C SB16 integrated sound card. I'm in a quandry as to how to fix the error. Have you any clues? I think I've found updated drivers for my card at www.drivershq.com. (http://www.drivershq.com.) But they have two version numbers for W98, 2.00 and 1.64. Have no idea which is the right one for me. And I'm not too sure how to manually update anyway. So I'm in a no-win situation as I don't want to foul up my sound, but can't wait to get rid of the two error messages.

Hi,

You are correct. Go to the Microsoft web site knowledge base and query article Q188803, which will give you troubleshooting links and information.
