View Full Version : Cloning a Macintosh HD (HFS) with Ghost in a PC

Does anybody did this before?? I think it would work because I understand that Disk to Disk copy option in Ghost does a sector by sector copy and doesn't care about filesystem.
As for the HD interface, both disks are ATA connected with IDE cables so they function in both types of computers (PC or Mac)
Also, the source disk is 30GB and the target 6GB, after assuring there's less than 6GB in the source one, should i previously Speed Disk it so all data is at the beginning, or as i think Ghost handles this itself during the cloning?

A byte for byte transfer might work. I haven't heard of it being done. If you do go ahead with it don't wipe the source disk until you have had a chance to test the copy.

Thanks for the advice mjc, but however i was already going to keep the original untouched for a couple of days before wiping and giving it another use.
I'll post back after doing it to let you and another people know if indeed it works or not.
