windows media player

I just downloaded windows media player(version 7.1)I installed it but when I click(double) on the desktop icon,nothing happens.It just won't open.Why?I use win98

Have you tried to run it from the Start menu or from any other location? If it won't run from anywhere, you probably need to reinstall. If it will start from somewhere else, you could delete the icon on the desktop and use a Right click from the Windows Explorer executable file for it to put a new icon on the desktop.

or else uninstall it and reinstall it. Under normal circumstances there's no reason why it shouldn't work.
