Help Loud POP computer Kaput

I was just surfing the web , when I heard a pop , the monitor went blank.

The fans were still going in the case and the lights on the front of the case were all on (DVD,CDRW and HDD lights). I tried to turn the computer off with the power button, but no go I had to unplug from the wallto turn it off. When I tried to turn it back on, no response what so ever. I did not see any signs of anything burnt inside the case.

Did my motherboard just die?

Are you sure it was your computer and not monitor. ?
Check the circuit breaker.
Could be the power supply if nothing turns on.
Could be your MB.
