Windows XP activation......

Well i did all the activating but then my computer had some problems :(
so i had top reinstall xp from CD, but now it wants me to activate my copy again. I have tried to activate it over the net but sometimes it stalls and does not respond other times it comes up, far too quickly saying it has worked

Obviously it hasn't :( so any ideas?

the number of days left for activation is counting down :(
(what will happen when the run out... will it be the end of the world? :)

well lets see if it has been activated go to the run box type "oobe/msoobe /a" without the quotes it will pop a window and tell you if it has been activated or not if it has and you have not changed any Hardware then you can reinstall it on the same machine as many times you want..

When the 30 days runs out, it simply needs the activation code to run, so it is no different than the situation you are in now. I would try using the XP cd to see if you can repair the install. It sounds like it is there and active, but it is broken. When you boot with the XP cd it will give you the option of repairing. If this doesn't work, you may have other problems that need to be addressed to get the thing working.
