Hi everyone,
When I try to start McAfee VirusScan central it says "McAfee Central was unable to load vsui50.dll." I click OK,then it says "Un-able to load main page".This is a full retail version that came with my computer(No software included,no cd). Also,I have tried to remove the program with "Add/Remove programs".In doing so I recieved a "Internal error 2735.StopAV SyncManager" error message.I did have the Klez virus which I scanned/deleted with McAfee(online)tools. If it can't be repaired can someone please tell me how to completely* remove it from my system(so I can purchase new).I'm not having problems with any other software. What should I check,if anything?Any suggestions?Thanks...

ahh are you one hundred percent positive you got rid of the virus?? to get rid of it you would have had to uninstall mcgafee run the tool and then reinstall the AV.
You say your pc came loaded with it do you have your origonal software package that came with the system? Like with a gateway bundled package everything was on the 3 recovery disks even the AV..I think there's is disk #3 Applications? The only reason i say this is it sounds like the virus may still be present???
solution...Trying installing your macfee again. Then disable the "autoprotect" and other features and change the settings so that they don't load the next time you boot up your comp. (no parts of mcafee antivirus should load) Then reboot. Now, your comp doesn't load any part of macafee anti-virus.
Proceed to uninstall mcafee antivirus completely.
Then reboot and install norton antivirus.or panda or AVG or anything other than mccrappy

If that fails
Back up back up back up
Be carful here This should completely remove McCrappy
Searching the Registry for McAfee VirusScan Files
NOTE: These instructions assume you have already removed McAfee programs
from your computer. The instructions tell you how to remove any file
remnants. If you have not already removed the programs find the template
for manual removal for each program you want to remove.
NOTE: Do not use these instructions if you have McAfee programs other
than VirusScan which you do not want to remove. You will need to follow
manual removal instructions which are specific for VirusScan.
Backup the Registry
1. Click on the Start button.
2. Click on Run.
3. Type in REGEDIT then click the OK button. The Registry Editor will
then appear.
4. Click on the Registry pull-down menu then click on Export Registry
File.
5. The Export Registry File dialog box will then appear. The top of this
dialog box contains an option entitled Save In. Make sure "Desktop" is
selected for
the Save In
option. If it is not, click the pull-down arrow and select "Desktop"
from the list.
6. In the File Name field type "Backup" (without the quotation marks).
7. In the Export Range group box make sure "All" is selected.
8. Click on the Save button.
NOTE: If you need to restore the Registry you can double-click on the
"backup" file you created and it will be restored. However, once you
have finished these instructions and are certain everything is working
properly it is important to delete the "backup" file you created. Do
this by right-clicking on the Backup file on the desktop then
left-clicking on Delete from the pop-up menu that appears. This will
ensure that the old registry is not accidentally restored once this
process is complete.
Searching the Registry
1. On the left side of the registry editor screen, single-click on My
Computer (located at the very top) so it is highlighted.
2. Click on the Edit pull-down menu then click on Find. The Find dialog
box will then appear.
3. Type a keyword from the list below into the Find What field.
4. Click the Find Next button.
5. The computer will then search the registry. The search will stop each
time a file is found related to the key word and the file will be
highlighted. Verify
that it is McAfee related, and press delete on the keyboard, then press
enter to confirm the deletion, then press the F3 key on the keyboard
which will
continue the search. Delete all occurrences until you get a "Finished
Searching through the Registry" message and click OK.
6. Scroll back to the top of the registry editor and highlight My
Computer. (This is necessary whenever starting a new search because the
search only
searches from the top down and will begin with whichever file is
highlighted.)
7. Repeat Steps 1 - 5 searching for each of the following key words.
(Type the words exactly as they appear below and verify that each file
is related to McAfee before deleting it.)
a. McAfee
b. VirusScan
c. Vshield
d. Network Associates
e. Safe & Sound
f. Helix
g. 0267BC36324B1FB47A4E57BBB84647E0 (This is the VirusScan Key Value and
is case sensitive - all caps, the 0s are zeros)
8. If you are removing other McAfee programs such as McAfee Office,
search for Cybermedia in addition to the key words listed above.
Remove the McAfee VirusScan Shortcuts
1. Right-click on the McAfee VirusScan Central shortcut located on the
desktop. A pop-up menu will appear.
2. Left-click on Delete to remove the shortcut.
3. Click on the Start button.
4. Highlight Settings then click on Taskbar & Start Menu. The Taskbar
Properties dialog box will then appear.
5. Click on the Start Menu Programs tab.
6. Click on the Remove button. A list of folders will then appear.
7. Locate the McAfee VirusScan folder and single-click on it so it is
highlighted, then click the Remove button.
8. Locate the StartUp folder and click on the plus sign (+) next to it.
9. Within the StartUp folder, single-click on Mount Safe & Sound Volumes
so it is highlighted, then click the Remove button.
10. Click the Close button followed by the OK button.
11. Restart the computer.
VirusScan should be completely removed from your computer.

Do a search for *.cplsee if you can identify the file that corresponds to this icon, delete it.Becarful that it is the only one you delete..

I got rid of McAfee a couple of years ago because of all the trouble it was giving me. I ultimately ended up reformatting and reinstalling to get it all out. It was the first time I ever tried a registry edit and I still couldn't get it out. It was like a virus itself.

Did a file search for .cpl.It is a control panel extension file.Something like Avsca.cpl.I clicked on properties to make sure and it was VirusScan/Network Associates related, then deleted.Good advice Budfred, should be taken in my opinion. Thanks again Yoda for all the great info....;)
