Ok, Ive recently had my computer Slow Down ALOT! so i decided it was time to defreag and Scandisk..this made it regain some speed however it isnt performing like and AMD 850mhz should....Any helpfull Hints would be Greatly Apreciated...Thnx

What OS are you using?

Do a ctrl-alt-del and see what's running. What's running in the background?

What's in Start->Programs->Startup?

Is there an anti-virus program doing a scan of your HDD?

Have tried lookaing at the temporary files directories:

C:\WINDOWS\TEMP
C:\WINDOWS\TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES

If these diectories are full, thay can really slow down a computer.

Have you run disk cleanup in start/programs/accessories/system tools/disk cleanup. This can help clean out the temp and other files you don't need.

Then run defrag.

Or you can spend the cash for a utility to do this for you, such as mcafee.com online services. But, why spend the cash if you don't have to?

Are you running fat 32?
