Hi

This is probably a really simple question but how do you get rid of lines inserted in a word document.

I think the user inserted the line by using "shift + _", the line can be moved about by click and drag, but I have not been able to delete it.

I have attached a sample word document for reference.

Thanks

Have you checked settings in Tools, Options? There are all sorts of things in there that can do amazingly annoying things with Word2K, so I would check there first. I didn't download your file because I am at work and they frown on that kind of the thing on the network here, but I have found most problems like what you describe to be due to settings in Options.

Slim. These lines were inserted with the drawing tools. AFAIK, there is no explicit delete function in the drawing mode.

HOWEVER, if you add some dummy text each side (above and below) each line, select it so that the line is included, and press delete it seems to work, at least in word97, so it will probably work in 2000.

Hope that works

They are paragraph borders. Put the cursor in the line above or below the lines. Then Format<>BordersAndShading and choose NONE and click OK.

Paul is right, the lines are paragraph borders and the lines do disappear when I followed his instructions.

Thanks for all your help.
