I'm a running a 450 Mhz PC with 128 MB of RAM. When I power on, my system beeps once, counts memory a few times, and boots up. In Windows 98, if I select: Shut down/restart, my computer shuts down and doesn't restart. Infact, it won't start up unless I remove my 64 MB SDRAM chip. Then it starts up fine. And if I reinsert the memory later, it starts up fine. As long as I select Shut down/Shut down, my PC powers up fine. Can anyone shed some light on this for me.
Thanks

We've had numerous problems relating to RAM. This is what happened when we tried installing 128 in some computers:
Some instances were windows not booting.
Windows booting half-way then restarting.
Sometimes we needed to have a 64MB in the first slot.
Sometimes we needed to have a 32MB in the first and second slot.
Some PC didn't like some companies, but worked fine in other systems.
I would check Crucial (http://www.crucial.com) put in your system and it give you a whole bunch of info on RAM required.
