View Full Version : pc-cillin removal please help

my mother board is a kt3 ultra series and a kt333 chipset based im usind windows xp and a athlom 200oxp.when i bought my system it had pc-cillin installed on it aparantly it is part of the motherboard set up.it never worked properly so i have tried to uninstall it but it wont let me iv also tryed in safe mode still no joy.
iv disabled it from start up but could any body please advise me how to completly uninstall it.

Click on Start
Go to Run
Type REGEDIT in the box (remove any old keywords that may be present)
Click OK or press ENTER on the keyboard.
(The Registry Editor will then open)
Click on the [+] to the left of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE once.
Click on the [+] to the left of Software
Click on the [+] to the left of Microsoft
Click on the [+] to the left of Windows
Click on the [+] to the left of CurrentVersion
Click on the "Run" folder once so that it's open
Looking at the window to the right, Locate "IOMON98.EXE"
Remove the "IOMON98.EXE" by clicking once to highlight it,
Then hit DELETE on the keyboard.
Click on YES to verify the delete.
It should then be removed from list and no longer be seen.
Close all windows that are open from PART I.
Part 2
Click on Start
Go to Run

Click on the [+] to the left of Software

Click on the "RunServices" folder once so that it's open
Looking at the window to the right, Locate "IOMON98.EXE"
Remove the "IOMON98.EXE" by clicking once to highlight it,
Then hit DELETE on the keyboard.
Click on YES to verify the delete.
It should then be removed from list and no longer be seen.
Close all windows that are open.....
Re-boot the computer for the changes to take affect.
Back up your system first And welcome to PC Guide

iv tryed what you said but there is no "iomon98.exe" pheraphs this only aplies to windows 98
what i did find wasa line saying
webtrapnt.exe reg-sz c:\program files\trend micro\pc-cillin2000\webtrap.
should i delete this please advise

hi thanks for the help i followed the root you told me but the was no
"iomon98.exe"
there was a webtrapnt.exe reg sz c:\program files\trend micro\pc-cillin2000\webtrap
i am using xp so pheraphs the "iomon98.exe" relates only to windows 98
what do you recomend should i get rid of the file i found

Lets keep it to the thread that way anyone helping will know what is happening :D I have never run Pc-Cillon and never will so i have to go by what i read..

These would be the common places from where you can remove the program:
1. Add/Remove programs
2. Program installation directory.
3. Start up (System configuration utility - Msconfig)
4. System configuration editor- sysedit

iv tryed all them options but it still wont remove apparantly it is built into the motherboard setup and there is a way to uninstall but the supplier said he dident know it
