I'm wondering, I've got 2 cd's full of old school documents and I'd like to have a txt file with the filenames of the stuff in the cds. How can I do this easily without going into the cd and typing out all the contents one at a time in notepad? Is there an equivalent to "cat 'filename' >> 'output file'" in winxp?

There are bound to be other ways and other utilities that will do this for you but I like TurboNavigator (http://www.turbonavigator.com/download/index.html) which I use for a number of file management tasks. The edit menu in it allows you to copy selected files/folders and paste them into whatever you want as just file names or with the complete path.
I also like the abiltiy to view all files and edit text files directly from the app.
