Quite often I am uninstalling a program using the add/remove feature only to find that some files were left over to be uninstalled manually.I don't know why but I find this very annoying. Is there not a piece of software that remove a program in it's entirety without leaving any files at all. Thanks

I believe there is a program called TOTAL UNINSTALL or PC Cleaner or something like that they are free but i like the manual way I don't trust freeware all that much. Some of these programs can reek havic on your DLL'S

Often one of the files left over is the uninstaller itself...mainly because windows will not let you remove a file in use, and many software authors don't really bother with scripting the uninstaller to carry over to the next boot.

Another common area for incomplete uninstalls is when you move things around after install. Most uninstallers will only check the default locations. So if you move a shortcut after install it most likely will not be uninstalled.
