Hi,
I am using using windows XP with Internet explorer as the web browser on my laptop.Since the last few days whenever i run the IE,the task manager shows 100% CPU usage and system slows down.If i end the process the system resumes working normally.I don't know what the problem is but if anyone can please help me out in diagnosing the problem it'll be of great help. Thanks in advance.

The first thing to do is clear the cache/history/cookies.

The next is to run an AV scan, followed by an anti-spyware scan. Spybot or AdAware (links in my sig). Some of the BHOs/ActiveX objjects that get added to IE by the spyware peddlers can cause the problem you are having.

You can also try the manual route by getting HijackThis (http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/) and posting the log here.
