I am a bargain hound and saw these deals so I am posting this for anyone who might be interested.

This week 256meg PC2100 DDR Crucial RAM at BestBuy for $35 after rebates.

Verbatim 48x12x48 CDRW for $10 after rebates at OfficeMax.

Obviously these are only helpful if you have the stores in your area and they have the same prices they offer here.

Hmm,

I tried online to purchase my 'limit 1 per customer' CD-R's and no dice. Tried to get some from where my sister lives, out of stock already! Tried to get some from another location and pay over the phone, NOPE! Can't do! Heck, the hour drive just ain't worth it.

All that drool for nuthin'... :(

I seem to remember trying to get a CD-RW and discs a while back and the store was also out. The gal called the warehouse and they still had them in stock...I was able to order directly from the warehouse through her store. Not many of the sales folks know they can go that route.

Also, if that works remember that the total before rebates is over $50 so the shipping should be free...

Oh, I did call a few stores and got the same old, "Out of Stock!" This gal was sharp and knew the "back door approach!"

Oh, and the warehouse sent me the necessary flyer with the coupons in the same box!

I've had that happen several times with OfficeMax, but sometimes they do restock in time to make it worthwhile to check back.

Found plenty at another locale but the 1 per customer is discouraging when you have to drive so 'durn' far after a 'loong' days work, plus recruit a passenger to enable the extra 'deal' also.

They sure don't make it easy...

That's 2 hours time JUST travel! Would be nice if they were local. :shrug: Whatcha gonna do?

As I mentioned, none of the clerks except for one knew of the backdoor deal...

The "in store stock only" could be one of the same clerks that's naive to the warehouse deal...;)

When shopping at a best buy location go to the most remote place in the store or look in the back sections of the computers section and you can find great deals. For example I found a 150 pack of cdr's for $25 and there was a $26 instant rebate. With the $1 store credit i got 20 CD-rw's. Pretty nice.
