hi, i have a winxp ntfs system, i already had 256mb ddr pc2100 ram, and upraded by adding an additional 512mb pc2100 stick, computer itself has been ok and is not giving me any grief
except, when i resume from my hibernate state, it takes significantly longer than it used to. I had a look around and noticed that the c:\hiberfil.sys had gron from abt 260mb ~~> 768mb! i suppose that this is why it takes longer, but cant i put a size limit on it? or even defragment it so that its at the begining of my drive? i tried a few free utilities that say they can defrag it but they dont work.
my c:\ drive 4.91Gb and has 2.56Gb free space, i use this partition only for winxp, to reduce fragmentation, and it has worked so far (had this configuration for 13months now), but this hibernation thing is realy pissing me off, i thought a ram upgrade is supposed to boost performance not slow it down!
