happens againa nd again help me please.. what can i do. my freiind says take the battery out of the bios chip turn it on and off quick put it in reboot...

Your friend is suggesting that you reset your BIOS and that may be valid, but you may have a jumper on your motherboard that makes that easier, check your motherboard manual if you have one.
You are going to need to give us a lot more info if you want help here. What is your Windoze version, what are the specs of your hardware, when is the problem occurring???? As much detail as possible please....

i use windows 98 second edition, it happens every time i sart up .. it originallay happened when my computer crashed due to my cat mashing afew keys while i was playing red alert 2 :'(. all programs i have scince installed need re installing every time i run my comp ..

You could try scanreg /restore from a command prompt.

i dont think it is that. i used an old registry file and it worked ok but when i started my comp it happpend all again.

A random pressing of keys during a game is unlikely to cause a major change in your system, but the reg restore or a reinstall of Windoze would be the things I would at least try to see if it works. The clearing of the BIOS seems less likely to be helpful. Ultimately you may need to look at backing up, wiping the drive and starting over, but I would try some other tricks first.
Again, please say more about your system specs so we know what you are working with.
