why do the pictures that are posted on forums or web sites appear snowy,its like watching telly with a badley tuned arieal?

Welcome Jack. Resolution my man. Video being isabob's expertise I'll let him explain how to repair it. Basic's are video card/drivers Display settings thingie's like pixels, etc. Hang On.

Can you be a little more specific about your visual problems? Sounds like your refresh rate could be the culprit , that's basicly how often your computer refreshes your display. Right click on your desktop and select properties; go to the settings tab in display properties and click on the " advanced " tab on the bottom. Look for the adapter tab and see if it's in " optimal " you may have to change this by choosing another refresh rate; try changing it to 60 hz first and work your way down the list till you get a better display.
If you can post a litle more detail about your system someone here may be able to help a little more , but for now that's all i can suggest with the brief info you gave us.
