old IBM386 sistem and new monitor

we have old IBM-386 comp without it's own monitor
ant want to connect it to new, modern monitor.
question is, does it damage or
spoil something in new monitor,or it would be ok?:confused:

If the Monitor and Video card match .
You should have no Problem.
VGA/SVGA video card and one of todays VGA monitors will work perfectly together

Only thing you have to watch out for is. Interlaced video
If you can fiond the spec's for the video .
don't use the interlaced settings.
Or make sure you have a Multisinc monitor

One other potential hangup is the refresh rate...the older video cards tended to have lower refresh rates, so you will need a monitor that is capable of handling lower ones.
