View Full Version : IRQs outside of range 0-15

My system has an ASUS CUV4X-DLS using windows 2000 Pro as the operating System.

Device manager will show that it uses IRQ 16 for the Graphics Card and PCI SCSI adapter, IRQ 17 for the network And Sound card and IRQ 19 for the PCI SCSI adapter.

Anything I read states that IRQs 0-15 are the only IRQs available.

Is there any explanation why device manager shows 16, 17 & 19

It's just a 2K thing. Something to do with the HAL and resource management. You can think of anything beyond 15 to be virtual. This is the way both NT and 2K work. I wish I could offer a better explaination for this...
