Anybody know where I can get an actual HSF for a Chaintech GeForce 4 MX 440 video card? It come with a lame plastic heatsink with no fan, and I'd like to do better than that. Thanks!

It come with a lame plastic heatsink
"Plastique?" Do you mean, "Plastic look alike?" Or, "Cheap as plastic?"
You might want to have a look at : www.thermaltake.com
Check out their chipset fans...Blue Orb and Crystal Orb etc.
Make sure that you measure the distance between the pins and verify with the specs from Thermaltake to insure that your choice will fit. Also be aware of any capacitors etc., that might be in the way of the retrofit. :)

I mean the material type, but I'm sure it couldn't have cost them more than $0.10. Anyway, thanks for info Whyzman, I will do that. I actually bought a decent looking Thermaltake HSF this PM at CompUSA, but I had not measured the pins and it turned out to be too big, it was for the Ti series of Nvidia cards. Sooo, I will now get smart and measure the distance between the pins.

Let's see.
You are going to change a silent video card into a noisy one and void your warranty for what reason?

Sandman or gwallen4, I'll try to explain why I post to this board. First a little background. I have to answer to my boss, my wife, my son and various other authority figures, so when it comes to a hobby, I am definitely not going to answer to anyone. I'm not here for anything other than furthering my education about this new (for me) hobby that I have gotten into, and hopefully, help others when I can. I know that I may void the warranty, and worse, I may very well fry this card when I start to tweak it, but that is my decision, because I earned the money that may go up in smoke. If you can't answer my technical questions, I suggest you save your keystrokes for a more useful purpose.

So sorry. I was just joking around.
Newegg.com carries a variety of fans that might work. Also you could attach the fan to the heatsink with a little superglue on the corners.
Good luck on overclocking.

gwallen4, thanks for the info. Sorry for getting a little testy..I must have left my sense of humor turned off while I was writing that post.
