If i use any Nvidia drivers above 40 set it only gets half way though the install and freeze or they wouldnt install at all, but if i use the card in another system with the latest set of drivers it works ok.
The card works ok with any set below 40 no problems on main puter, any idea?
Main mobo,
Abit NF7-S, nForce2
Jiggy, I think you had better put in a call to Ghostbusters.....
Two things to check,
1. Make sure you have gotten rid of the old set, entirely first.
2. If this is a VIA based board, try a different set of the 4 in 1s.

First completely remove the old drivers, don't leave any trace of them, and then install the 40.XX .
1.Remove the current driver from the control panel, do not restart.
2.Download the detonator destroyer utility or nvidia file cleaner from http://www.guru3d.com use it to clean all the nvidia files.
3.Restart the PC.
4.Use the standard vga driver the windows uses.(keep hitting next unchecking all the options)
5.Restart the PC.
6.Now install the 40.XX drivers(40.72 recommended).
7.Restart the PC.
8.Done
anyway, look around guru3d, you might find some other useful utilities.
Note: while in windows with the standard vga driver after the 5th step, you might want to use the detonator destroyer utility and/or nvidia file cleaner again to make sure all the old driver files are removed and then move on to 6.
