from Apple's website....

What is Darwin?

Darwin is the core of Mac OS X. The Darwin kernel is based on FreeBSD and Mach 3.0 technologies and provides protected memory and pre-emptive multitasking. Darwin runs on PowerPC-based Macintosh computers and a version is also available for x86-compatible computers.

Yes, u can install Mac OS X on a PC. I havent tried it yet, but it needs a different file system, a friend told me. You can download it from Apples site, if memory servers me right, its aba 350mb.

Darwin isn't "exactly" OS X, kind of the development version...there are some differences.

I am currently in the process of trying to get it running my self....
