Hi folks,
I need to setup a two way connection between two computers, about 10 miles apart. Both use the same ISP, both have a cable connection and both are using XP Home.
We need to tranfer graphics, text, etc. Some files in the 70MB range.
If anyone can steer me in the right direction?
TIA...:)

PCAnywhere probably provides the best security for this and can be found pretty cheap on eBay. Timbuktu might do it to, but security isn't as good and it costs more....I could even sell you the copy I bought and don't use:D . If you are using WinXP on both computers you can set up a remote control with that alone.

The cable ISP probably provides the requisite bandwidth. If security is a concern read up on how to establish a VLAN across the Internet.
If security isn't a big concern, and both machines have fixed IP addresses assigned by the ISP, then a super-easy & quick solution would be a peer-to-peer messenger with file transfer capability. Something like VCM: http://www.http-tunnel.com/HT_Products_VCM_Details.asp
(If you decide to try VCM, post back here. There's a few tricks I've figured out to get it to work outside a LAN environment.)
