my drive is a esollo or something like that
i bought the computer used (1 st mistake)
it already had windows 98 and a few other things on it. When i first got it,
it seemed to work fine. But when we started adding games to it we started
getting messages on missing files and that the explorer had caused a fault in
kernell 32 and also messages saying other things have cause a fault in
kernell 32. my computer freezes up alot. if it is left on it always freezes
up i have to shut it down for abbout 15 min. and then it will go again.
i did not get a restore disk with this computeri also do not have the windows cd
but i do have windows 98 second edition for p.c. without windows
i DO how ever have the disk for mother board and for motom
any info you would have i would be grreatful for
it would be nice to just start all over again but as i am finding out that
is not so easy in the pc world.

Try this: http://www.windows-help.net/windows98/troub-341.shtml
or this:http://www.windows-help.net/windows98/troub-342.shtml
It could be the password list is corrupt or you have memory modules that have failed.

I am having the same problems, and went to the link posted, followed the instructions there, and didnt have any .pwl files on my comp to delete like that says, so at a loss here for the answer. I have run a system file checker, and replaced that file from the windows CDRom, and still no help.

Good luck, http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

when I put it all back together, it was only missing two bolts

If you dont have .pwl problems then there is a fair chance you have Simms/Dimms Memory problems when those errors are present.
