I'm planning to buy the Leadtek WinFast TV2000XP. As I understand, I could plug my cable connection into the computer using the TV Tuner so I can watch the tv program in my computer. Can I also use this in order to capture the programs from the cable tv so I view the program again. If this can be done, may I know what software to use in order to do this.
Thanks.

The TV card comes complete with the software and drivers necessary to accomplish recording shows to your harddrive. It saves them as some sort of video file and you just open the file to launch the WinFast and watch.
I picked one of these up myself at the advice of malcore and cannot wait to get it up and running. I have an All in Wonder Video card in this machine that allows me to do pretty much the same thing.
I just designate how much of my harddrive I'm willing to set aside for recordings and what quality I would like for the recordings (i.e., a higher quality recording chews up more space than a lesser quality recording).
You will get everything you need along with the card to accomplish recording and watching! :) Enjoy! ;)

... but I payed $53.99 and $5.00 for shipping but it included some Kingston RAM from Newegg.
WATCH OUT! I'm gonna be DANGEROUS now! I won't be going after America's Funniest, I'll be pursuing America's Most Embarrassing Home Video's
Thanks for the tip, Malcore, but I don't think that's what those who I capture on film will say to/about you... :D More like... %$%&((&^&!!! Why'd you have to tell Ted about that %#$^&*(*'n card anyway!!!

now i have a chaintech nvidia 4200 gpu. it has svideo in and out. do i (or should i) get this add on card?
If your current video card has both video inputs and outputs you will just need the correct capture software, and a source with the proper connections (cable box, VCR, etc with an S-video out...)

Few more question:
Sometimes, I want to record some tv program but I'm not on my PC during that time. Are there are software where I can set it to record on a specified time so I can still record the tv program while I'm out of my PC? What softwares are these?
