The case of he abreviated control panel

Weird, I know how to switch back and forth from the control panel classic view to the new xp look, bu suddenly I've lost the ability to do so. My control panel opens like the old classic but the section on the left that lets you switch back is missing. Where oh where did it go?:confused:

Theres a little arrow next to the titles on the left where you should see that, make sure there pointing north to show the option. Its easier to click on Start-Settings-Taskbar and Start Menu, then Start Menu tab and click the Customize button. Within there checkmark to Expand the Control Panel and then its a simple click on Start-Settings-Control Panel, and it will expand and let ya choose the option of choice.

Try right clicking the task bar next to the clock and go to properties. When the properties window opens go to the Start Menu and make sure that Classic Start menu is NOT selected

Have you tried toggling the Folders Button on the Toolbar at the top??
