Scan Disk

I'm working on a DEll and every time I try to run Scan disk it will start, then after 1 sec or 2 it resets and starts over, and over and over and.............. it will not complet. It's windows ME. Any answers? Thanks

Try running it in Safe Mode.

Hit f8 while booting and select Safe Mode, when the menu comes up.

are you running it in dos? try booting to a dos boot disk and run it from there.

Since I last posted this I have started up in safe mode, turned off the quick task bar, ctrl+alt+del to turn off all programs and God help me I'm at my ropes end. I took off the back ground picture and turned down the graphics acel. and still no dice.

The use a Win98 bootdisk like boshuter suggested and run it in DOS.
