I have Windows Media Player version 9.00.00.2980. My OS is Windows XP.
I downloaded some video files that have a RAM extension. Well--at least I think that they are video files. But when I try to open the file, it will bring up Microsoft Photo Editor with a message that says, "Unknown file format." If I try to open it with Windows Media Player, a box will pop up that says, "The selected file has an extension that is not recognized by Windows Media Player, but the player may be able to play it." I then have the option of clicking either "Yes" or "No" to try to play it. If I click "Yes", a box then pops up that says, "Windows Media Player can not play the file. The file is either corrupt on the Player does not support this format you are trying to play." I don't think the file is corrupt, since it happens to any file with the RAM extension. Does anyone know what the problem is? Thanks.
