I hope someone can help here, before I go mad with frustration.
Here is is the problem, I have recently upgraded my PC to Windows 2000 Pro. I have a CD-RW, make LG CED 8080B. I'm using CD Easy Creator Platinum, to burn my CD's. Everything seems to do as it's told, and the "little green light" on the cd drawer flashes nicely, and the software completes the process. When I try to play the Cd back no sound comes thro', however all the track are on the CD and the drive does show these when I use Winamp. When I take the CD out and examine it, it does look like there is anything on the disc, nothing burnt. Previous CD used to show signs of burnt tracks. I have tried differant software, but still no joy. I now have a lovely collection of silver frisbees ;)
I'm wondering if it's got something to do with the drivers, but I can't find an up-to-date copy and can't seem to find any on the net.
Any ideas or help would be great
Thanks
Billy

A couple tries to attempt:
Uninstall/reinstall CD burner and software but beware! Uninstalling Roxio's software can cause problems. See one example here (http://forums.cd-rw.org/thread_view.cfm/5587)

Indicates that some of your Windows files may have become corrupt.

Have you played any 'copyright protected' CD's? Some try to disable your burner.

Also NERO (http://www.nero.com/en/content/root.html) and MusicMatch (http://www.musicmatch.com/download/free/?OS=pc&MODE=input&DID=&OEM=MMD) have burning software trial versions for free. They (the full versions) both beat Roxio IMO. I have NERO installed, 2 versions of the older Adaptec (now Roxio) sitting on a shelf... I have used MM+ also but it is not installed. I'm not a 'fancier' of fancy 'skins'.

Good luck.

EDIT:If you uninstall Platinum, see here (http://support.microsoft.com/search/default.aspx?Catalog=LCID%3D1033%26CDID%3DEN-US-KB%26PRODLISTSRC%3DON&withinResults=&QuerySource=gASr_Query&Product=win2000&Queryc=corupt+files+from+Roxio&Query=corupt+files+from+Roxio&KeywordType=ANY&maxResults=25&Titles=false&numDays=) for the fix.

Another possibility is infection with a trojan such as c-dilla. I would suggest downloading and running either ad-aware or spybot. links to those programs can be found inmjc's list (http://www.pcguide.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15179) . Worth doing anyway, even if it does not cure your problem!
