laptop sound section replacement

Hello,

I have compaq armada e500 laptop. Its sound sections seems to have gone bad. It makes noise for nothing being played and to avoid it I attach headphone just to silent it. Its a temporary work around.

I read compaq manual and it has no section explaining upgrading sound section. is it possible to replace sound section in laptop as easliy as getting new memory or disks?

No, for the most part, laptops are extrermely integrated and parts like audio are not replaceable.

You probably can turn the audio off if you want to do that. Let us know if that is what you want.
