3DMark2001SE win98Se vs. WinXP

I get a score of 10000+ running 3dMark on win98se, but roughly half that on winXP (5000+). Plus, it actualy crashed on XP, and visibly runs poorer on XP. Anyone know what gives? Thanks.

Just an off hand guess, that version is not fully compatible with XP.

Well, I'm reading about others using it with XP, that's why I'm puzzled with the problems I'm getting. Curious if others have had the same problems, if there is a setting I'm missing on XP. I usually do not have compatibility problems on XP with other programs. Thanks.

Alex try to uninstall then re-install 3DMark AND THEN run 3DMark in XP. I've had problems with this before. Are you running a dual OS?

When I had 3DMark on Win 98se I had a score of 9800 and on Win XP Pro I've got a score of 8700. I am not real sure why I dropped a 1000 points. I am sure it has something to do with XP Pro.
