I have two computers connected with a router, one w/Win XP and one w/Win98. I can share files, but have not been able to install the printer driver on the Win 98 machine. I have the Win XP printer shared. The printer disk has autorun and will not let me install the driver properly. Spent 45 minutes with radio computer tech show and still having problem sharing printer installed on Win XP machine with Win 98 machine. Any suggetions? I feel that I am missing something simple. Are you sure the printer is network compatible?
What Make and Model is it?
If you are sure it is network compatible
Can you see it listed in the network under win98?
What I have found on a couple of my printers is it works best to download the latest network printer driver for each O/S by model and o/s
Then add each printer and point the driver install to the new driver
Sometimes those auto run disks/programs are a pain.

Thanks for the replys. I finally figured it out by looking at the HP web site. As I had tried before, I used setup.exe and installed the path and name of the shared printer in place of LPT1, and was able to install the HP Deskjet 722C printer driver. A little tricky, but I finally stumbled on it after dancing all around it for a few days. Thanks, WolfpackRon.
