what is this msm pu 401.drv.
Should this driver come with the sound or is it to do with a modem such as a high speed modem.
I had it installed and now it isn`t and I can`t get into my internet. Could this be the problem.

Well that's a good question.

I found a listing that claims it is a Microsoft CD-Rom Driver (http://www.cdrom-drivers.com/drivers/43/43207.htm)

Then I found a whloe lot of listings claiming it is a sound card driver. (http://www.soundcard-drivers.com/drivers/65/65197.htm)

I remember having a couple of computers that listed a MPU401 device under the sound card listing in device manager on Win98/ME machines.

The driver is a Microsoft Driver and is on your Windows CD.

I know this doesn't quite answer your question. Maybe you could give a few more detail about your system, modem, and soundcard. What happens when you try to go online?

Good Luck,
