Ok...I've had this subject up under the "Video Card" section for a while...but I think it may have something to do with my CPU now, I don't know, but thats why i'm here, looking for help, x:)>

Whenever I want to run a video game, the game will load up and start playing fine, but a few minutes into the game, bam!, the screen starts to stutter and the sound begins to skip, like the computer doesn't have enought memory to run the game. Here are my system specs:

Pentium 4 1.7 GHz
512 MB Ram
GeForce4 Ti 4600 128 MB graphic card
Standard Intel Integratted Audio
Windows XP Home (non SP1)

Now, I should have any problem running any of the games that I have...but whenever I run a game, something weird happens and all my memory gets sucked up. I've turned off all programs running in the background, have run DiskCleanup and DiskDefrag numerous times, run a full virus scan on my entire comp, and have downloaded Ad-aware and removed all spyware from my computer...but I'm still having problems. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Ok...I've had this subject up under the "Video Card" section for a while Yes we know. It would be best if you contain your problem to one thread. Even if it is found that it has nothing to do with your video card or monitor, it's easier than chasing little tidbits of threads here and there.

The one in Multimedia is fine and can be resolved from there.

Ok, my apologies, I didn't know if everyone browsed the boards or if certain people stayed withing certain realms. Thought I might try to get my problem out there to someone else, my apologies.

Also, if it were a CPU problem it would probably just flatly not work. It probably isn't a video problem, but it probably does have something to do with how memory is allocated and that can be addressed in the other thread.

And yes, it is true, the regulars here tend to check all the new posts whereever they are....
